Bringing forward a range of strategic employment sites will facilitate the development of a world-class renewable energy hub in Hull and the East Riding of Yorkshire.

Providing sites creates the opportunity to build a local supply chain and maximise the economic opportunity for significant new job creation.

Bringing forward sites capable of accommodating large-scale developments suits the land hungry nature of the renewables industry and more specifically the offshore wind sector. Co-location of the supply chain is one of the main areas the offshore wind industry is looking at in order to meet the cost reduction targets set by the Government.

Therefore providing large areas of land in the immediate vicinity of the port will promote inward investment activity. In response to this challenge the local authorities of Hull and the East Riding of Yorkshire have worked with Partners to offer a comprehensive range of sites suitable for all potential end users.

Many of the sites are in the Enterprise Zone. The sites designated with Enhanced Capital Allowance benefits are suitable for large tier 1 suppliers to the offshore wind industry, whilst sites designated with Business Rate Discount are ideally suited to tier 2 suppliers.
